Hair Color Brush Applying Hair Color Using A Brush?

Applying hair color using a brush? - hair color brush

So here's the idea: I want to use a brush to color some semi-valid Permananta my hair. I am dark red, but I want to try a true red. You do not want my hair color is, but a uniform mixture of red and dark - almost like a pile of bin highlights / lowlights - that's why I want my hair brush. Will it work?
Side note: I know I have a package of hair dye, but I want this color on a very even outside.
